Mixed Americano Padel Rules: Gender-Balanced Rotating Pairs
Mixed Americano is Americano with a gender rule: every pair is one man and one woman, and the rotation is built so partners and opponents change as much as possible while keeping that balance every round.
How to run a Mixed Americano tournament
- Confirm an equal, even number of men and women — minimum 4 of each. The format needs balanced groups to build pairs every round.
- Play matches to a fixed point target, same scoring as classic Americano — points go to the individual.
- Let the rotation mix pairs each round. A good rotation avoids repeating the same mixed pair back-to-back and avoids facing the same opponent twice in a row.
- Track a live individual leaderboard — points are personal, not tied to whichever partner you had that round.
Players and courts
Needs an equal number of men and women, minimum 4 of each (8 players total). Courts follow the same rule as Americano: one court per group of 4, so 16 players (8 men, 8 women) need 4 courts.
Scoring
Identical to Americano: play to a fixed point total, both players on a side bank the points their side scored, and totals go on an individual leaderboard — not a team score.
Gender-balanced pair rotation
Every pair is one man plus one woman. The rotation prioritizes new partners each round and, where possible, avoids repeating the same mixed pair or the same cross-court opponent from the previous round — so the field keeps mixing instead of settling into familiar duos.
Tiebreakers
Same as Americano: head-to-head, then games differential, then a golden point if still level.
