Team Americano Padel Rules: Fixed Pairs, Round-Robin Format
Team Americano is Americano with one key change: pairs are fixed for the whole event instead of rotating every round. Each team plays every other team once, in a schedule built with the round-robin “circle method” so no pair repeats before the full circle finishes.
How to run a Team Americano tournament
- Form fixed pairs before the draw — teams stay together for every round, so pick partners who want to play as a pair all event.
- Build the round-robin schedule. With enough courts (at least half the number of teams, rounded down) every team meets every other team once. Fewer courts still avoid repeats — you just won't reach every possible pairing.
- Play each match to a fixed point target, same as classic Americano. Points go to the team, not split among a rotating field.
- Track team standings after every round and settle ties the same way as Americano: head-to-head, then games differential, then a golden point.
Players, courts, and teams
Works with any even number of teams. Courts don't need to match team count one-to-one — with fewer courts than half the team count, the schedule truncates: fewer matches per round, but pairs still never repeat within the rounds played. An odd number of teams means one team sits out each round.
Team scoring
Scoring works exactly like Americano — matches are played to a fixed point total and both players on a team bank the same points. Because the pair never changes, team points simply accumulate round after round instead of resetting with a new partner.
